Paediatricians warn for new Human Papilloma virus Vaccine

The American College of Pediatricians (the College) has updated its position statement on the  Human Papillomavirus (HPV) vaccines with the latest research regarding the virus and its effects, as well as the effectiveness and safety of those vaccines.  This revised statement has information, not available from any other single source that is pertinent to healthcare providers and patients considering the use of HPV vaccines.  The College also has a new statement regarding a potential association between at least one of the HPV vaccines and ovarian dysfunction.  Dr. Scott Field, a board member of the College and a member of the College’s Scientific Policy Committee stated that “The information regarding this new concern has been shared with the FDA and CDC.  A study reportedly is being planned to look at a possible link between premature ovarian failure and HPV vaccination.
